Repose

The clouds lower their crystalline ambassadors
Gracing the surface with liquid purity
Uncountable, lacy marionettes dancing
Repose
The moon casts its pale grin southward
Towards gravity, sparkling, tragic and bloodless
Caressing the earthy curves with tenderness
Repose
The darkness of sleep is a kind escape
From the whirling madness of the day
Dreams infiltrate the safety of the mind
Repose
Water trickles stealthily down the mountain's face
Trails of snowy tears have carved themselves
Into the reluctant history of the rocks
Repose
In any lover's arms it is dark and warm
Suffocating; the embrace of his strong body
Safe, I slip into desperate sleep
Repose
Surrendered yet unwavering, we withstand pursuit
Of the midnight beauty, mysterious and impalpable
Denying desires that magnetically throb us inward
Repose
